District 9
In 2007 or so, I worked on the Halo feature film with Neill Blomkamp (it was never made unfortunately, although we did hundreds of designs and had great fun getting as far as we did). Out of the ashes of that film, came District 9, and I was lucky enough to be Lead Conceptual Designer and Wētā Workshop’s art director for what remains one of my all time favourite sci fi movies.
Note that some of these alien creature designs are collaborations with sculptors and designers David Meng and Jamie Beswarick - adding colour or building upon their work.
